Which lens do you use when reviewing your management system?

ith every project we undertake Business Monitor discovers new depths to the efforts organisations will make to have processes and systems that protect their business and their workforce.

This month we have just completed an exciting project with a startup business in the healthcare sector developing a management system from the ground up to support both their permanent placement and labour hire divisions that they are planning to establish.

Yes planning!

The company has three Directors who have worked in organisations where the business is operational but the processes and systems are an afterthought, and they understand the value in investing the time and funds to build a strong foundation so the business can flourish.

A point raised in the psychological health | WorkSafe Victoria resources resonated so strongly with Business Monitor, and with this client, that it is now paraphrased and joins another quote from a client on our “virtual wall” of key messages clients are sending us.

Policies, practices and procedures created by workplaces should always be viewed through the lens of workers’ experiences as well as the organisation’s strategies and goals.

This client doesn’t have any “workers” as yet but is building a structure that will ensure the business is compliant and that there is a process for workers, when they are engaged, to have their input into every policy, practice and procedure that impacts their experience and wellbeing in the workplace.

There is a particular focus by the three Directors, lead by Dianne’s knowledge of the sector, on how this can be implemented effectively with labour hire employees and the consultation that is essential with host clients.

Business Monitor’s depth of knowledge and breadth of resources to deliver risk management solutions, labour hire management support and business compliance has been increased threefold while working with this client and, as we finalise their management system, built in Sharepoint, we can’t wait to watch the business fly!
